Beginners: Your First SAFe Inspect-and-Adapt Workshop

Four gentle prompts that walk a first-timer through running the SAFe Inspect-and-Adapt (I&A) ceremony against FCC's bundled portfolio epics under docs/safe/portfolio/epics.md. All prompts use the deterministic mock engine so no API keys are needed. The goal is to demystify the ceremony by showing how FCC's 9 portfolio epics, PI calendar, and vocabulary interlock.

Prompt 1: Orient the Room

Prompt

RTE, give a 3-minute opening for an I&A workshop that introduces
FCC's 9 portfolio epics (PE-001 through PE-009) in docs/safe/
portfolio/epics.md. Name each epic by id + title, group them by
value stream, and call out which are scheduled for PI-2027-Q1
versus later PIs.

Finish with a single sentence on why the I&A ceremony matters for a
framework-scale program like FCC.

Expected Output

  • 3-minute scripted opening (~250 words)
  • Epic table grouped by value stream
  • Closing sentence grounded in SAFe doctrine

Prompt 2: Walk the PI Objective Status

Audience: Beginner Difficulty: beginner Personas: PM

Prompt

PM, treat PE-001 (Real Seed Data Foundation) as the sample epic.
List its acceptance_criteria verbatim from the YAML front-matter,
then rate each criterion on a 0 / 25 / 50 / 75 / 100 scale the way
SAFe recommends.

For each non-100 criterion, propose a single-line next-PI
commitment. Keep it humble: no over-promising.

Prompt 3: Problem-Solving Workshop

Prompt

SM and RTE, lead a 20-minute problem-solving workshop on "FCC
docs mirror-drift incidents observed in the last PI." Use the
fishbone diagram template. Identify five bones (People, Process,
Tools, Data, Policy) and name one candidate root cause under each.

End with a ROAM vote (Resolved / Owned / Accepted / Mitigated)
for each candidate.

Prompt 4: Capture the Improvement Backlog

Audience: Beginner Difficulty: beginner Personas: RTE, PM

Prompt

Close the workshop by producing a 5-item improvement backlog in
Markdown, each entry with title, owning persona, and one
acceptance criterion. Map each item to one of the 6 SAFe core
competencies. Save as a scratch file in your personal notes.
