- Contribution ladders must have objective promotion criteria
- Conflict resolution must include escalation paths and timelines
- Governance changes must follow defined amendment procedures

Best practices that should be followed when possible.
- Use proven open source governance models as starting templates
- Provide contributor ladder diagrams for visual progression clarity
- Include governance health dashboards with participation metrics
